04-20-2009 Connecticut Certified Payroll Update
04/20/09 Connecticut Certified Payroll Update Available
The Connecticut Department of Labor has released a new Certified Payroll Report and Fringe Benefit Explanation/Statement of Compliance. These changes will become effective today, through a program update.
The updated form and mandates are available in CPS Version 5.0.336 - which is a BETA version.
To obtain the program update, with QuickBooks CLOSED - start CPS, go to the Help menu, choose Check for Updates, select Version 5.0.335 and choose Download and Install.
To obtain the new forms: after the program update has completed and with QuickBooks CLOSED - start CPS, go to the Help menu, choose Check for Updates, select State of Connecticut forms and choose Download and Install.
The only significant change to the actual certified payroll report is the inclusion of "section information, per employee."
Section B applies to Connecticut DOT projects only, while Section A applies to all other projects.
Section information is entered into CPS by Work Classification. In CPS, from the Basic Info menu, choose Work Classifications. Edit each Work Classification specific to your Company and enter SECTION information.
This completes all necessary changes in order for you to comply with new Connecticut requirements.
